Noga Malkin joined Sikkuy in mid-2019 as director of its Public Affairs Department. Prior to joining Sikkuy, Noga headed the news desk at Haaretz’s English edition and worked as an editor and writer. Previously, she worked in multiple countries, including Turkey, South Sudan, Nepal, Jordan, Israel and Palestine, researching, writing and managing humanitarian and refugee assistance projects for a variety of organizations (such as Oxfam, International Medical Corps, the United Nations refugee agency and Human Rights Watch).
Noga spent a year and a half living in Egypt as an Arabic language and culture fellow at the American University in Cairo. She holds a B.A. in political science and human rights from Barnard College of Columbia University and an M.A. in Arab Studies and refugee assistance from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She serves on the leadership board of the Jewish-Arab political movement Standing Together and is a certified Ashtanga Yoga instructor.
She is currently on maternity leave.
