Kholod Idres was appointed Co-Director of the Policy Planning Department in January 2026, after 6 years co-directing the Shared Society Department (she joined Sikkuy-Aufoq in September 2019).

Kholod brings rich professional experience in managing social projects to advance equality for Arab citizens and a shared society. Among other roles, between 2009-2019, Kholod led the human rights education and anti-racism field in Arab society at the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI). Prior to that, Kholod was the first Arab Co-CEO of Mahapach-Taghir, a Jewish-Arab NGO for social change, where she developed a vision for a shared society within the organization and the model for joint management. In the past, Kholod was active in the Committee for Equal Education – Kedma, Zochrot, and Reut-Sadaka, and served on the Executive Committee at Mahapach-Taghir. Today, Kholod is active in Zazim as a member of the Executive Committee. Kholod holds a BA in Sociology and Human Resources and an MA in Gender Studies – both from Bar-Ilan University, and is a certified organizational consultant.

Kholod lives in Tamra with her partner, Bassam, and their three children.
