Helly Hirsh joined Sikkuy-Aufoq in March 2022 to work on coordinating efforts involving geographic committees and urban renewal in the Equality Policy Department. Her undergraduate degree is in community social work from the Hebrew University and she holds two advanced degrees in urban and regional planning from the Technion. Her research interests and published articles focus on the critique of eviction and displacement processes around conceptualization of the experiences of uprooted residents, and the exclusion of disadvantaged populations from planning processes in Israel and abroad. Hali has a wealth of experience in research and teaching, as well as in private sector planning. She has worked as a volunteer assisting refugees from Darfur and South Sudan to fully exercise their rights and deal effectively with the Ministry of the Interior and immigration services.
Helly is raising two daughters and two dogs together with her partner Angel.
