Shirin Batshon was appointed co-director of the Research and Development Department, established in January 2026, after serving as co-director of the Equality Policy Department for over two years since joining Sikkuy-Aufoq in September 2023. Shirin holds an LL.M. from Tel Aviv University and Northwestern University in Chicago, and is also a graduate of the Washington College of Law in Washington D.C., where she was a Fulbright Humphrey Fellow. In recent years, she has worked as a researcher at the World Bank and UN Women, including contributing to the development of global indices. She brings deep expertise in research and data-driven policy advocacy, with a focus on law, gender, economics, and climate.
